Pickering emulsion as template for porous bioceramics in the perspective of bone regeneration

Calcium phosphate (CaP) based bioceramics are widely used as bone substitutes. The most encountered CaP ceramics obtained from high temperature phases. However, their bioactivity and association with biomolecules limited, well bioresorption in-vivo . aim of this work is to develop biomimetic low apatites tunable porosity via biocompatible internal phase Pickering emulsions. emulsions developed were stabilized by stoichiometric hydroxyapatite (HA) particles. Several parameters (mass HA particles, oil/water weight ratio, electrolytes concentration in the aqueous phase) investigated define optimized formulation conditions leading a kinetically stable monodisperse emulsion minimum drop diameter 200 µm drops enough percolated induce interconnected porosity.
